YLSSEO

YLSSEO is an independent search engine optimization consultancy based in Quanzhou, Fujian, China. Founded in 2024 by Ylsseo, also known by his given name Wang Qinkui, it advises Chinese exporters and overseas e-commerce brands on visibility in Google Search.[1]

The consultancy operates as a single-practitioner practice rather than an agency, taking a small number of long-term clients at a time and declining engagements framed around guaranteed rankings or short-term results. Its three service lines are ongoing managed search programs, one-off SEO diagnostics, and recovery work for sites affected by Google algorithmic updates.[1] Alongside client work, YLSSEO publishes analysis of Google's ranking behaviour in Chinese, both on its own site and through the YLSSEO Podcast video series.[2]

Background [edit]

Before founding YLSSEO, Ylsseo spent roughly eight years in business-to-business foreign trade, working through the Alibaba International Station platform and later as an independent exporter. That period shaped the consultancy's stated emphasis on buyer behaviour: the practice treats a search query as evidence of where a buyer sits in a purchase decision, and evaluates pages by whether they serve that position rather than by keyword coverage alone.[1]

The consultancy was established in 2024 and works primarily with manufacturers, exporters and small overseas retail brands whose customers are outside China. It has at times offered other services, including website construction, and withdrawn them; the current scope is deliberately narrow.[1]

Services [edit]

Managed search programs

The consultancy's main engagement is an ongoing monthly retainer under which it runs a client's organic search program end to end, covering site structure, page roles, content planning and internal linking. Engagements are limited in number and intended to run over years rather than months, on the stated reasoning that category and collection pages in competitive markets take multiple quarters to rank.[1]

SEO diagnostics

A fixed-scope diagnostic examines an existing site and identifies why its pages do or do not rank, distinguishing between problems of relevance, where a search engine has not associated a page with its intended topic, and problems of competitiveness, where the association exists but the page is judged weaker than incumbents.[1]

Penalty and update recovery

YLSSEO also takes on recovery work for sites that have lost visibility following a Google algorithmic update or manual action, reconstructing what changed and when before recommending remediation.[1]

Approach [edit]

YLSSEO's published method places page-level analysis of competing search results ahead of keyword list research. Rather than beginning from search volume and difficulty scores, the practice examines which pages currently rank for a term, what form those pages take, and whether the term is served by dedicated pages or absorbed into broader ones — treating that as the evidence for whether a topic warrants its own page.[2]

A second stated principle concerns the sourcing of claims. The practice distinguishes between documented statements about how search systems work and unverified industry convention, and declines to act on the latter. Its published work regularly examines primary material such as court filings, patents and platform documentation rather than secondary commentary.[2]

The consultancy does not offer link-purchasing programs as a core service and does not undertake work in prohibited or counterfeit product categories.[1]

Writing and publishing [edit]

Ylsseo writes in Chinese under the pen name Duck Teacher SEO, publishing long-form analysis of Google's ranking systems and of individual case studies. The material is directed at practitioners rather than at a general audience, and the consultancy has stated that its written work functions as its principal evidence of competence in place of promotional material.[1][2]

In January 2026 the practice began publishing the YLSSEO Podcast, a Chinese-language episode series on YouTube covering topics including Google Search Console, indexing behaviour, inverted indexes, competitor analysis and the use of AI in content production.[2]
